St Marks Road will be closed for 6 to 7 Months for Bridge rehabilitation. During the rehabilitation work Highway Operations crews will remove the bridge from it’s abutments, clean and replace any members that are bad. They will also repair and re-point the stone abutments and wing walls. After the bridge is set back in place it will get a new Glue Lam Wooden deck.

All this work is being done by Highway Operations crews, except for the cleaning and painting of the steel truss members.

Olive School Road and Lander Road will be utilized as a detour route during the replacement of the bridge on MD 464 over Catoctin Creek. The bridge closure is scheduled to begin in Spring of 2010 and will be reopened before the end of 2010, weather permitting. State Highway will be holding a public meeting to discuss the construction. For one week beginning November 24, the bus stop at the FSK Mall will be temporarily relocated at the Mall entrance nearest Macy’s due to construction. The regular bus stop location (near Value City) will reopen on December 1, 2008.
