The Board of County Commissioners will meet with Delegation members at 9 am on Friday, Nov. 21, in the third floor meeting room of Winchester Hall, 12 East Church Street, Frederick. The meeting will be webcast on www.co.frederick.md.us/video.

Starting on Nov. 17 in Middletown with the distribution of new 65-gal containers, the curbside recycling program will expand to a single stream system, allowing residents to place unsorted recyclables the container.

In response to economic conditions and predictions that current year revenues will be significantly under budget, the County Commissioners imposed a temporary hiring freeze on current vacant positions.

The Frederick County Roads Board will be meeting on Monday, December 8, 2008 at 7:00 pm. The meeting is held in the Winchester Room located on the 2nd floor of Winchester Hall, 12 East Church Street. If you would like additional information, please contact 301-600-2336.
St Marks Road will be closed for 6 to 7 Months for Bridge rehabilitation. During the rehabilitation work Highway Operations crews will remove the bridge from it’s abutments, clean and replace any members that are bad. They will also repair and re-point the stone abutments and wing walls. After the bridge is set back in place it will get a new Glue Lam Wooden deck. All this work is being done by Highway Operations crews, except for the cleaning and painting of the steel truss members. Olive School Road and Lander Road will be utilized as a detour route during the replacement of the bridge on MD 464 over Catoctin Creek. The bridge closure is scheduled to begin in Spring of 2010 and will be reopened before the end of 2010, weather permitting. State Highway will be holding a public meeting to discuss the construction. For one week beginning November 24, the bus stop at the FSK Mall will be temporarily relocated at the Mall entrance nearest Macy’s due to construction. The regular bus stop location (near Value City) will reopen on December 1, 2008.
